Sermon – “His Power Toward Us”

15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[f] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

I mean God is so faithful. So wonderful so wonderful to praise him just to enter into that time of praise and worship you know that song we sang I want to do a little exercise here begins morning and I want you to close your eyes all of us all even close my eyes and if you love him I want you to say with me Jesus I love you Jesus I love you keep your eyes close because go in the time of prayer but know this we love him but he first love us Father God we thank you and praise you praise you for your presence in our lives while there are thank you that you are faithful and true father that you always there for us we thank you Father for your spear and I just pray that you would poor out your spirit upon this place today by others as we lift our voices to you may be a sweet aroma to you Father God may be sweet to your ears and Father I pray that your words or God would be would come off of my lips or God would be from your throne room Father God open our ears and our hearts to receive what you have forced today by the lift our spirits as we lift up your name in Jesus’ name amen. By grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is a gift of God. Not of works of us anyone should boast for we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them my friends whenever someone gives you a gift did they give it to you because you earn it they give you a gift because they want to give something to you God has given us His grace through Jesus Christ but I want to get back to the power we need to walk into power we need to know what the power is I want to share this story the late newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst this was a man that love collecting art traders he had a extremely valuable collection of art items and he spent a fortune collecting art items over the years and one day he found a description of some valuable artifact that he thought man I just loved to have that for my collection so he gathered one of his agents and sent him a broad to search for this item. After many many months of searching this agent found reported that he had file a found the traitor that had been hunting for. Guess where it was in William her first own warehouse Mr Hurst had sent that agent a search for a traitor that he already known how to take in the time to read the catalogue of his traders he would have saved himself a great deal of money and his agent a great deal of time. Searching for something that he already had. My friends we have the power of God the power of Christ in us if you want to find it get our catalogue out and start looking because it’s in there there’s. Our In the words we have it don’t spend all your time searching for that long lost treasure that you think you’re going to find when you’ve got it right here we’ve got it right here in the Spirit of God as I began preparing this message I was going to title it King Jesus. But I just kind of transform the title but I still want to talk about King James’s because he is the King of Kings he is the greatest power that there ever was and never will be he has power in authority over all things first twenty two of our passage said and he put all things under his feet and gave him to be had over all things. Now when he says he put all things under his feet. What’s the meaning of all thing since all things are under his feet I know I’ve spoken before on the authority of Jesus and but I believe it’s been official for us to hear it to remind us once in awhile remind us of whose We are the hope that we have and remind us of the power that we have in Christ Jesus his power in us you know we’ve heard many times the passage from Matthew twenty eight verse nineteen to go into all the world and make disciples but my friends we can’t leave out the verse perceiving that. Jesus came and spoke to them saying all of Georgia has been given to me in heaven and on earth all authority. There are too many people out there today that have allowed the bad news that they hear by whatever media source rather it be one Facebook or the news or some other social media to cause them to think that there is no hope. The think that the church has defeated the think that our nation is defeated some think that there are just so much evil new world today that there is no hope for our nation or for our world why I’m here to tell you this morning that’s a lot of the devil because. That’s what he wants people to think the devil wants people to think that he has all power to Thord but my word tells me something different. That he has all authority in heaven and on this earth. If Asians six twelve it will tell us for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against Prince a power of these against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this age against spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places and then there is also a passage in the second Corinthians there refers to Satan as the god of this world small G. says but even if our Gospel is veiled and here’s a key it is veiled to those who are perishing. The truth of Jesus Christ is veiled to those who are perishing whose mind the god of this age has blinded who do not believe less the light of the Gospel the glory of Christ who is the image of God should shine on them. The phrase the god of this world or the god of this age indicates that Satan is a major influence in the ideas the opinions the goals in the hopes of many people in this world today his influences in compas is the world’s philosophies educations Commerce the ideas of speculations of many false religions many of these things are under his control Oh but why are these under his control because they’ve allowed it they allow it. To say that Satan is a ruler of the air or the god of this age is not to say that he rules completely. He were rules those that allow Him God is still software and God is still in control Amen. Yes God allow Satan to operate within the boundaries that. He allows him because God has given us free choice free will to choose to choose who we are going to allow to be sovereign in our lives to be roller in our lives. When the Bible says a sane aspira of the world we must remember it is only over unbelievers Satan has no power over you if you believe in Jesus Christ and walk in his authority. We are no longer under his rule of Satan collages one versus thirteen of fourteen says he has delivered us from the power of darkness in ASEAN to that and conveyed us into the kingdom of the son of his love in whom we have redemption through the blood the priggishness of sins out all to make a shout out. If you know anybody out there that’s ensnared by the devil in natural gas. Jesus can set him free you can deliver them from that trap deliver them from the power of Satan and into the power of the mighty kingdom of God. But they go from crisis to crisis convention to convention seminar to seminar book to book but they have all these dead spots in between. They seen the rely on these experiences rather than a little relying on Jesus Christ and His power. The church is called to walk in the power of the Resurrected Savior Jesus Christ if each and six ten through thirteen says Fowley my brother and. Be strong in the Lord in the power of His might. Let’s repeat that Finally my brother and my brothers and sisters be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might Don’t try to be strong in yourselves be strong in the Lord his power put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand the wiles of against the wiles of the. Devil for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers against the rulers of the darkness of this age against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand that in the evil day and having done all to stand stand there for. You know an earthly claim an earthly King’s greatness and power is measured by what the vastness of his kingdom correct I mean to the larger His Kingdom the larger is arming the more successful when the world in the world’s eyes he is. Well back again Jesus has all power all authority he has put all things under his feet to be head over all things to the church His Kingdom is the whole world is vastly Amen. And we the church are his body the fullness of him who fills all in all. Since we are believers we are the church we are his body he is the head that means that there is a living connection between Christ and the church the one who has power over all things we need to stop living on the battery system and plug in the Jesus Christ. Amen that’s the message for today don’t live on that battery system don’t live from one seminar to another from one book to another but live in the power that Christ want you to live in and that is his power. Who has all power and all Thor to over all things Amen.
