Sermon – “Faith”

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
23 Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, 24 but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

Could remember we have to remember he had faith in father god that he was gonna bring him through this whole situation and, and if it, if we think about it, he’d never jesus never been through this. The last thing we need to make sure we were getting out of this. Okay, we have enough faith to do whatever god tells us to do. Mm hm. Because not our parents are part of the holy spirit. Okay. And not by the works of the law for by the works of a law shall no flesh be justified. What can we do any way to justify the sacrifice jesus made on our behalf? Right. Okay. He staggered not at the promise of god through unbelief, but was strong and faith giving glory to God and being fully persuaded that what he had promised will god had promised guy was able also to perform. The new testament, most people really didn’t get it till after jesus die. Okay. And still some didn’t. But yet we have the old and new testament with all the examples. And so why do we miss it? Okay, and again, we have to remember because the lack of faith, you know, I mean everybody has a measure of faith, but we have to understand we have more responsibility because we had the old and new testaments. Okay. So we should be asking god for strong faith verse $22.00. But the scripture have concluded all understand that the promise of faith promised by faith of jesus christ might be given to them that be leave. So we have responsibility to believe which is what faith. Okay, it’s not about cells. Ok, the whole spirit does it through us. And for us This look a galatians 3 verse 26. Get the license 3 verse 26 that says um we are sons of god. Again, how through faith. Okay. 4 year, all children of god, by faith in christ jesus. So again, this faith thing, you know, we have to have faith for everything. We can’t afford to let go of their faith. We need to draw closer to God every day. So this faith gets stronger because if we don’t guess what it gets weaker, there’s no grey area. There is no new to where ye the goin 1st in deeper into it or sliding down from it. Ok as well, and we need this faithless face it as we think about our country in the world situation, we’ve got to have faith and we need to make sure we live that face. All others can see what we have and what we have. Because the way we live are to timothy 315 To timothy 315. We learn here the Salvation comes through faith. Okay, we’ve all been same. I think everybody he is or on your way to pick baptized. But I mean, we all believe that god is that jesus is our savior and our leader. And what’s the best for us for his 15 says in that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures which are able to make these wise unto salvation through faith. Which is in christ jesus. And again, most of us from childhood have learned the stakes. Okay. The thing is, are we living it and diving deeper into what is what this brought us this far. Okay. As when he faith for that. Okay, we’re not going to do it on our own. And I’m sure most of us have tried. Okay. It didn’t work out. Look at hebrews 116 hebrews 116. Without faith, we know it is impossible to please god. Right. But without faith, it is impossible to please him, for he there cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that doesn’t diligently seek him. So will diligently meet once in a while once a week. You know. Oh, once a month for the exec all the time. And as we need to remember all the time we have all the time we have is because god gave it to us. How much of it are we spending with him versus other things? That doesn’t mean we’re not gonna be our responsibilities or, you know, have some fun. The thing is, are we remembering that we belong to him? And so that the things we’re doing would represent what he would want. That would bring him, glory and honor. And that shame and disappointment, where do we go? Where was he found our feet. Okay. What are we doing? What are we saying out of our mouth? Because if we have faith, then we’re asking god to help us to clean up, axel his big, okay. We know we can’t do it ourselves, but we know the holy spirit is can do everything because he has the power of god. Our 2nd point is faith in what? Okay. And Matthew 8, verse 8 to 10. Matthew 8 versus 8 to 10. If we ask the same question, do we really trust god to deliver us? According to his will. You know, so often when we pray, ah, we pray for our will to be done. And jesus easy to bless that. Okay. But we have to remember, it may not be god’s will according to way we understand. But we have enough faith in whatever he does. His answer is best for concern as writ. I mean, let’s face it. If we lose a friend or family member, it definitely hurts because it’s a relationship we had is no longer there and the physical rel. But especially if our friends, which hopefully they are because they are our friends, had the same faith in jesus that we f. Okay. Because we passed off something in our lab labs as christians that they had picked up in wanted in their lives. And again, we never know because it that split 2nd of their last breath, they might accept christ at that time. Okay. But we need to make sure we have enough faith to share jesus with everybody. He brings in contact with it because it’s not our authority. Is jesus authority? Ok? Let’s look at x 3 x 314 x 314216. And if we’re careful and have enough faith in god, we will ask how many miracles he performed for us. Okay. But our faith in crisis would really saved us because we could call upon god, I know aloud. He was head operations lately. I know ideas. And I called alpha jesus but if I didn’t have faith in him, who would I call out to Because there’s nobody else but jesus. But that we can depend on unless the thing we need to remember, you know, I’m sure we’ve all had friends and neighbors in co workers or whatever that failed us, so to speak. What didn’t meet our, what we anticipated they should have do done, you know? And the thing is we can always depend on god, no doubt about it. If we had that faith, Let’s see, where am I next? li, 14. And this go to x 2424. Again, we talk about faith. So he was married to a jewish so we know we know he has some idea about to do his faith. Okay. Nobody at that. No, no doubt about it. You know, it’s like the say our spouse is right where our friends, okay, we may have shared our faith with somebody. But when you have that the head honcho so speak. Okay. Me right there. You know, you’re, you’re not even the say like I was raised catholic. Okay. But then I went, god sent me the other congregations different. Had, and the thing as you come up and in all of it helps you know, because it helps strengthen your faith in the one who created you. Who said you who bought you through all these different difficulties in life. I mean, as does faith. And the thing is we, we didn’t own it, we didn’t do anything to really receive it. The holy spirit blessed us with it. They in and day out. So what, what faith in what in god and his power. Okay. We know we have faith in jesus, lord jesus his authority. We have faith in christ and we have, we need faith in god in his power. One corinthians, 251 corinthians to verse 5. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men. But in the power of god, you know, think bad things are to day. Who do most people have faith in the jar, the neighbourhood, the authority god placed over us. We can’t have faith in any of it because we most of us on show have seen injustice in so many different ways. You know, you have 2 people that commit murder. One is 2 years, the other, his life was router picture. Okay. So we, when we, if we call to court, we don’t know what we’re going to get because there is no hackney said faith in the judicial system that we limit. No, I’m not, I’m not knocking in as far as we don’t need because we definitely need it. We need something, but we, we as christians need to make sure our faith in god and whatever god will says, like we’re paul, he had been jail. So if he, if he caused us to be in a situation, it’s very uncomfortable. Okay. He has is there for purpose, so we don’t have enough faith whatever situation to make sure we’re supposed to represent. God. Okay. And that’s definitely to god’s power. Okay. But it won’t be through our own. The 3rd point is the source of faith. romans 10 verse, 17 romans, 10 verse 17. So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing about the word of god. And will is passive, ron habit, to do less out of readers and hears of his were on my air. One more thing to read is here is and doers of his were because we can have all, if mason world, we’re not doing anything with it. Why have it okay? By hearing the word of god. Our 4th point is faith alone is not enough. Okay. faith alone is not enough. Bear with me just a minute. To Also faith must be with love. This is the biggest part of this message. Ok. faith must be with love, corinthian, 13 to redman. Where emma one current is 13 too. Sorry about that. And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith so that I could remove mountains and have not charity or love, i am nothing. Who doesn’t me? I can tell any anybody, anything I can share with anybody, anything from scriptures. But what does it mean if I’m not living it from saying one thing to you and then all of a sudden am what acting like while the soldiers act a fool. Why should you want what I have with I hear you talking but which are saying it catches my eye more than what you say it would you do? Okay, the way we act the way we respond. And of course the question after this is how do we, how does faith prove itself? Ok, again we come down to our 6 points, we should live by faith. And as the key we should live by faith. People should know we not living in our own faith. We live because of the faith of god, the faith of jesus and God plan and purpose for our lives. romans, one verse, 17 ramos, one verse. 17. Again. We’re looking at the just shall live by faith for they are in is the righteousness of god revealed from faith to faith as it is written, the just shall live by faith. Again, we want to make sure whatever we hearing to day matches up with the word of god. Okay? And that’s why we’re taken all these scriptures because we need to make sure that somebody calls us. We can go back to the same scriptures, okay? And as we study this out in our own time, it should hopefully make more sense to us. So it’s so ingrained into our hearts in our minds and souls that is easy to ask god to help us to live the life is blessed us with. And we want to do that because of what we are commanded to have faith. When we look at the fees and $6.00 were 16, he fees in $6.00 were 16. Says above all, taking the shield of faith. Okay. Got to see a right in front of us. Ok, wherein ye shall be able to quench all the fiery dots of the wicked. Think about that, No matter what comes against us. If we had that shield, which is what, in our minds our hearts, our souls. And hopefully our bodies, because the bodies can, can only relate to another body with a heart and soul, a thinker. He blew 6 verse one. Says therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of christ. Now we’ve already been saved. We know all the way we should live. Okay. So going forward, we need to believe the principles of doctrine of christ. Let us go on to perfection, or sanctification or maturity, okay? Not laying again. The foundation of repentance from dead works and a faith toward god because we should, desiree should be established in US. Okay, and when one of the ways or several ways we can do that is while making mature choices. Okay, and I’ve got a few things teaching others rather than just being taught. We come here, we learn the lesson, but what we do want god sends out the doors the next week should live. We should be live in a life, in faith, living according to god’s word. So as from what we want, because we have joy on our heart knowledge and see us all down in the mouth. Okay. Because we have faith, we know still pile will garzo with us. Okay. teaching us learning us all kinds of different things. developing depth of understanding rather than struggling with the basics. Why we keep going back to the basics is, I mean, think of it is so many things that we have. conversation when people, sibyl, how long you been a christian, you know, and used to having a problem with that. Okay, but we’re all there. We all have us struggle with something that we should be already over. That’s why guys still working with us. Okay. developing, oh, okay. The developing death of understanding self evaluation rather than self criticism. Think about that and that takes them faith because you know, our tendency as humans is to find guilt without cells. Well, why not do that all alice stupid. You know, why didn’t I do this? Okay, but we need to make sure we’re looking at from god’s perspective. Yes, there was an issue. But this is what I want you to do. I want you have enough faith in me to realize I can clean it up with according to my purpose. God ok, his purpose seeking unity rather than promoting disunity. desiring spiritual challenges rather than desiring entertainment was our human race do as to heart at only one deal it. Let me just go in, you know, deal with my computer or my phone, whatever, you know, games or whatever. And we did that when we found ourselves in a situation. We need to make sure we have enough faith to go pick up the bible. God won’t be, may it a promise? If I guess all day I can ever prompts a guy will never be met? May it because we see him. Okay. But that’s we need to remember what we are. We overlook in the opportunity to god’s giving us to mature. Okay. Are we just saying we won’t forget about just go enjoy ourselves and fast, some entertainment. That makes us feel good. Okay. careful study and observation rather than opinions and a half hearted effort. Think about that. No, we think about how many times we get were dragged in or jump into a debate with somebody. You know, god didn’t give me. I’m sam, me. I’m hope that hopefully all of us agree with this. A spirit of debate. He gave me his word that I’m supposed to live by. I can share with anybody. But because they hit me in a face with a hammer afterwards. Guess what? guy knew was gonna happen. Hey, the thing is though we willing to step out, oh we gonna, are we looking at? Well, what could the consequences be to be stepping out in faith doesn’t matter. We have enough faith to know the god will take care of us. As long as we are doing his purpose, okay. active faith rather than cautious apathy and doubt. ha ha, times we fall into that. Well, I’m just not going to be bothered at yale that so and so could they just got him? I made up, you know, they’re just going to be that way. Okay. confidence rather than fear. Love cast out all fear, right? mass with swifter tells us. So we should have confidence not, not being proud, unnecessarily proud, but confident it would god calls us to do. He will accomplish and it’s not us. We need to be at least humble enough to let god do what he wants to do. Because we knows where our best as well. feelings and experiences evaluated in the light of god’s word rather than experiences evaluated according to feelings.
