Hebrews 9:6-14

Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services. 7 But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance; 8 the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. 9 It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience— 10 concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation. 11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Exodus 29:38-41

“Now this is what you shall offer on the altar: two lambs of the first year, day by day continually. 39 One lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer at twilight. 40 With the one lamb shall be one-tenth of an ephah of flour mixed with one-fourth of a hin of pressed oil, and one-fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering. 41 And the other lamb you shall offer at twilight; and you shall offer with it the grain offering and the drink offering, as in the morning, for a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.

Habakkuk 1:13

You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he?

Luke 23:44-49

Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’” Having said this, He breathed His last. 47 So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous Man!” 48 And the whole crowd who came together to that sight, seeing what had been done, beat their breasts and returned. 49 But all His acquaintances, and the women who followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.

Hebrews 10:19-23

But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Palms. 51:7

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Acts 3:18-19

But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord

1 John 1:7

Well welcome those that may be tuning in the of the web this morning and welcome you to for joining us and welcome those who are here this morning. As want to say if you. If you don’t want to hear about Jesus didn’t already hear about Jesus you’ve tuned in or came to the wrong place. Because we’re going to hear about Jesus. You know that last. Praise and Worship song. Awesome God. You know. The only reason we can come into the awesome presence of God is because of what Jesus has done for us. That’s going to be the focus this morning. Is how we are able to come into the awesome presence of God. Christ suffered once. For sins. Once and for all. He suffered for our sins. My scripture this morning. Comes from Hebrews Chapter nine verses six to fourteen. Now don’t fear. I haven’t abandoned Luke. Yet. It’s in there it’s going to be an error says. Later in the message. But I want to begin with Hebrews Chapter nine verses six through fourteen. Here the word of the Lord. Now when these things have been thus prepared. The priest always went into the first part of the tabernacle. Performing a services. But into the second part. The high priest went alone. Once a year. Not without blood. Which he offered for himself and for the people sins committed in ignorance. The Holy Spirit indicating this. That the way into the holiest of all. Was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle. Was still standing. It was symbolic. For the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered. Which cannot make him who perform the service is perfect. In regard to the conscience. That’s important. All those sacrifices of old. Would not make one perfect in regard to the conscience. It was an outward thing it didn’t purifying cleanse the heart. Currency. And only with food and drinks various washings and fleshly ordinances. Imposed until the time. Of reformation. But Christ came. As high priest of the good things to come with a greater and more perfect tabernacle. Not made with hands that is not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves. But with his own blood. He entered the most holy place. Once for all. One time now before all is for all mankind. Having obtained eternal redemption. Not temporal. Not have to be done every year. But eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats in the ashes of Heifer. Sprinkling the on playing sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh. How much more sell the blood of Christ who through the eternal spear. Offered in self without spot to God. Cleanse your conscience from a dead works. To serve the living God amen. May God at His blessings to the here and in a reading of His Holy Word let us pray. Father God we just thank you and praise you. Thank you that you made a way that we can come on to you thank you that you made a way that our conscience. Can be cleansed. That we can be purified. Through the precious blood of your Son Jesus Christ. Father I just pray that your spirit will be upon us that you would open our hearts to receive your word today. In order that our ears receive what you have force. That you may be glorified in Jesus’ name amen. The unfathomable riches. Of Christ sacrifice. Can be realized. When we look back to the Old Testament dispensation. Universe six told us that the priest. All ways that means. Every day. Every day. The priest continually. Had to go into the temple to do the services of the Lord. This was great commitment. It desired. That it demanded. On their part. But the priests the ordinary priest they only went into the first part of the tabernacle. To accomplish the service of God. Their daily services included such duties as keeping the lamps filled with pure olive oil. Because the lamps were to burn continually. There was never to let that light go out. The incense. Was to be burnt in the temple. Continually. As a perpetual incense before the Lord their God or God it was never to go out. So this was a continual service. Always. They also burnt out. Burnt Offerings. Exodus twenty nine versus thirty eight to forty one reveals the offerings they were to offer continually. This is now this is that which sell that house out offer upon the altar. To lands of the first year day by day. Continually the one lambaste offer in the morning. And the other lamb. Thou shalt offer at the eve. And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the flour. Part of a hint of beaten oil. And the fourth part of a hint of wine for a drink offering. And the other lamb. Thou shall offer at Eve. And shall do there two according to the meat offering of the morning. And according to the drink offering there of for a sweet savor an offering made by fire. Unto the Lord a sweet savor. We all know that. You know if you’re out in your yard. Workin. And your neighbor begins to grill. Wow that aroma comes over here like all the sudden you’re hungry. Right. The smell so good. So imagine how it smelled let your senses go to work here. Imagine how smelled. Around the temple when these offerings are being made in the morning you never even a sweet aroma wasn’t the thing is no one except for the priests were permitted to enter the temple. No one but the priest were even allowed to run of the first part of the temple. Which is called the holy place. But within the holy place. Of the tabernacle there was an inner room. Called the Holy of Holies. Or the most holy place within the holy place. This was a very sacred place. Not even the ordinary priest. Were allowed to enter into this place. But only the high priest in then. Only once a year. Could he dare to enter in. And that was on the day of atonement. The high priest had to make. Meticulous preparations. He had the washroom self in a special way. He had to put on special clothing. He had to burn incense to let the smoke. Cover his eyes. To prevent a direct view of God. That might sound like. Well that’s a little harsh. But it wasn’t was merciful on God’s part. Because he couldn’t bear to see God without the smoke to cover his eyes. You know there. There is an old tradition. That says that the priest would I. Bells around their waist and they’d have a rope tied to their ankle that if something happened if he dropped dead while I was in there they could use the rope to drag him out. But most say that that is probably nothing more than a wise fable tale because they had to dress in a very meticulous way. It’s not believe that God would have allowed such a thing. Because God is. They had to strictly adhere to the directions that God gave him. And he wouldn’t enter in without blood. To atone for his sins and the sins of the people. So it wasn’t a harsh thing. It was a merciful thing that God would allow them to come in and not be destroyed. This was God’s special dwelling place in the midst of his people among his people. During Israelites wanderings in a wilderness God. Appeared as a pillar of cloud. Or a fire. Above the Holy of Holies. The Holy of Holies was a perfect cube. Its length width and height. Were equal. And there was a very very thick curtain. Called the veil. That separated the Holy of Holies from the holy place. The veil was made a fine linen and blue purple and scarlet yarn. There were figures of Cherubim. Which is Angels and bordered on to it. Chair brimstone Cherubim which are spirits who serve God. Were in the presence of God to demonstrate his almighty power and His Majesty. They also guarded the throne of God. These Cherubim were also an inner most layer of the covering of the tent. So if one were to look upward. They would see. The cherubim and bordered on the ten. They would see those figures. The word veil in Hebrew means a screen. Or a divider or a separator. That hides. God had to have that veil up there to protect. Mankind. But it was that that. Veil that separated man from God. It was shielding a Holy God. From sinful men. A shielding. Us. To ceiling man from God. Because whoever entered into the Holy of Holies was for entering into the very presence of God. Anyone who dared to enter into the holy of holies. In a manner in which God did not ordain. Were anyone who was not permitted to ordinary priest. They would die. Because it was that holy. Form a mental picture in your mind if you will. This veil. This veil that separates man and God. So in that man. So in man. That the holiness of God could not be trifled with this veil shows us that we could not be a little god. And say no we’re going to do it our way. Because our God is a holy God God’s eyes are too pure to look at some future to pure to look upon evil. His eyes are too pure to look upon evil. He cannot tolerate sin. How to Cook one thirteen. God cannot tolerate sin. The veil was to make sure that man could not carelessly or reverently enter into the awesome presence of God. I can’t help but think of Moses. Coming down off the mountain after having been in the presence of God. But remember there was a cloud upon that mountain. So there was still was the cloud represents the smoke. To prevent him from the eye so the cloud was still there so that his eyes will not see the rectally. He seen the backside of God. But I remember the story him coming down off the mountain his face shone from being in the presence of God. That’s why throughout the history of Israel. The presence of God remains shielded from man. They said that. Veil was four inches thick. Four inches thick that’s hard to fathom that it could be that. Thick. They say that it was sixty feet in height. You see man could not get to God. Only the high priest and then only once a year. Man could not. Himself get to God. Because the veil separated. This is what. Easter is all about. Man could not get to God until Jesus. Changed things for say men. He remove that barrier. Luke twenty three verses forty through four. Through forty nine. Now. It was about the sixth hour. And there was darkness over all the earth. Until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened and the veil of the temple was torn in two. And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice he said father. Into your hands I commit my spear. Having said this. He breathed his last. So when disinterring saw what had happened. He glorified God saying certainly this was a righteous man. And the whole crowd. Who came together to see to that sight seeing what had been done. Beat their breast and return. But all of his acquaintances. And the women who followed him from from Galilee. Stood at a distance. Watching all these things. I wonder as they stood at a distance and watched. They were probably still just in shock over the vents that they had seen unfold the last couple days. How could this happen. Yes he told them that he would have to suffer and die but I don’t think they fully understood. And they were at this point I’m sure they still do not quite understand. But the veil being torn from top to bottom. Remember sixty feet tall four inches thick. Man could not have torn that Bale man couldn’t do it. It had to be God It signifies that it was God doing what man could not do. See God did what we could not do he did it for us. Could you imagine. The priest that would have been. Minister in a temple that day when that bail was torn from top to bottom. He had to be in shock because he knew that he couldn’t go into that place. He had to be in shock. But what had to really shocking. The veil was torn God was exposing guess what. He still breathe and. He’s still alive. God did what man could not do. He still alive how is he still alive again we go back to the Old Testament. Remember the Exodus from Egypt. Remember the plagues that come Pod all the Egyptians. But remember the last plague. The plague of death. What did they have to do to prevent death from coming into their household. Apply the blood didn’t they. They had to apply the blood to the door post and lentils are their homes. So when a destroyer came through that it would not enter into their home. The blood protected them. If the. If the Israelites. Even went out. And it had an Egyptian friend said You must come into our home if they were in that home that night. They too were protected weren’t they because the blood was on the doorpost in the lintels. It passed over. That’s what Passover is a passed over that home. And they were permitted to live. That is how. The priest it may have been ministering in the temple that day. When that bail was rent from top to bottom. Was still able to be alive. Because Jesus Christ has just said his blood. For the sins of the world. The destroyer did not destroy him. Because Christ died for all the Lord revealed something to me that this past week as I was praying about this and pondering on this. He died for all. That’s the only reason those that have reject Him are still what able to breathe and live. Because Christ died for me. Rather they know it or acknowledge it. He died for all his blood has covered the sins of all. That doesn’t mean that the wickets going to enter into eternity. But it still means a Christ died for them. If you do you getting this. He died for the sins of every man woman child upon his serve. Not all believe that and receive it but he died for all. He died for each and every one knows that they would reach out and receive that wonderful give. Receive the sacrifice that he made for us. Jesus open the way for us to come unto God that we can enter into the holy of holies. Because of the blood of Christ. Hebrews ten thousand nine hundred twenty three says. Therefore brother on. Having boldness to enter the holiest. By the blood of Jesus. By a new and living way which he concentrated for us. Through the veil. That is his flesh. And having a High Priest over the house of God. It has drawn near with a true heart. In full assurance of faith. Having our heart sprinkled. From an evil conscience in our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering for he who promised is faithful. Jesus did. Jesus died. Once. For the sins of man. He did not have to enter the heaven. To offer himself again and again. Like the sacrifices of all. He says his sacrifice is complete. Once for the sins of all the world. That means. All of the world. And all who believe all in Jesus Christ. Except that sacrifice. Can enter into the holy of holies. Can enter into the presence of God. When we enter into it in prayer we enter into it. When we come into a sanctuary. But now he has appeared once for all. At the end of the age to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Hebrews nine twenty six. You know scientists have discovered that every single snowflake. Has a tiny piece of dust at its core. You think of a snow flake how small it is. But yet. At its very core. It has a speck of dust. Every snowflake. Has a dirty heart. Think of that. You look at it and you see the beautiful snow you think all how beautiful impure. Looks. But every snowflake. Has a dirty heart. In a spiritual realm. When the blood of Christ is applied to the heart of a number lever. It cleanses him from all sin. Not a speck of the fall meant remains. Not a speck not one little tiny speck. For God removes every stain and. Washes him whiter than snow storms fifty one seven says purge me with Hyssop and I shall be clean wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. So have you ever wondered how we could be whiter than snow. That’s how we can be whiter than snow because we did not know that snow flakes had a dirty speck. At the heart. So we can be whiter than snow. Every speck of sin washed cleansed. Cast into the sea of forgetfulness Acts three eighteen. In one thousand says. But those things which God were told by the mouth of all his prophets. That the Christ would suffer. He has thus fulfilled. Repent therefore and be converted. That your sins may be blotted out. So that. Times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. And also first John one seven. But if we walk in the light as he is in the light. We have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son. Cleanses us from all sin. All sin. Verse twelve in our. Text today. Said. Not with the blood of goats and calves but with the blood or with his own blood. He entered the most holy place. Once for all. Christ suffered once. For sins. Having obtained. Eternal redemption. Not temporary. But eternal redemption. His sacrifice on that cross guarantees eternal life to those who believe on Jesus Christ. Those who accept the sacrifice that he made in the cross and my friends. We don’t need to have a cloud covering us when we enter into the presence of. God as. In the days of old. We don’t have to have the incense burn and we don’t have to have the smoke. To protect our eyes. Why. Because we have the covering of Jesus Christ. We have the covering of his blood upon us. Is how we can enter in to God’s presence today. Have you received. Do you believe. Have you accepted that gift. Of God’s amazing grace. Let him cleanse you. Let him make you whiter than snow. But impure fire your conscience say created me a clean heart of God and renew a right spirit in me a man. A man.
