Sermon – “His Names Identify All that He Is”

13 Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” 15 Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’

7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; 12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

11 “I am the good shepherd. Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Today my message out sidled his names identify all that he is the names of God. Identify all that he is and does and consume you know that is you know names are important thing. You know that’s why. Expecting parents sometimes will spend months and months and months nine months sometimes trying to figure out what are we going to name our new baby we’ve got to have that perfect name for this child we’re going to name them. There are many that believe that a particular name can have a significant influence upon that child or that person as a grow. They might grow and try to be all with that name stands for to be stronger to be brilliant. They really think that it can have a big influence upon that person. But one thing for sure no matter what your name is your name is how someone identifies you. Thank the lord we have names because you know I would want to be saying hey you back Aaron the blue shirt I need you or. You know you ever there in a gray sweater or you with a long blond hair you know. Names are important that’s how we had then a five people that’s how people identify us. That would be terrible we didn’t have names. A little skinny dude over there I think. C’mere want to talk to you know. So it’s good that we have names. But our God has many names. Doesn’t it. Or God has many names. Because just one name could not possibly describe. All that he is a man. One name just wouldn’t do. One name would not do. There’s no better place to start with one of these names. Then in Exodus. Now a lot of the scripture I’m going to share today does not actually speak the name that it might be referring to but it is the meaning of the name. That is used in the verses. Exodus Chapter three verses thirteen through fifteen then Moses said to God. Now this is when Moses and God are communicating back and forth at the burning bush. And that God is shared with Moses’ that you are the one that I’ve chosen is going to go and bring my people out of Egypt. You all know that story you know that Moses had to go wander or go there and be in the desert for forty years because God had to take Egypt but a Moses. Before he could send Moses down to bring the people out of Egypt. You know that story. So God is speaking to him and he said you now is the time. I’ve heard the cry of my people. You’re going to go and deliver them bring them out. The Moses said the God Indeed when I come to the children of Israel and say to them. The God of your fathers a sent me to you and they say. And they say to me what is his name. What shall I say to them. Now he say and what is your name what am I going to tell them. And God said the Moses’. I am who I am. And he said to them thus you still say to the children of Israel. I am. Has sent me to you. Moreover God said to Moses. The so you say to the children of Israel. The Lord God of your fathers the God of Abraham. The God of Isaac. The God of Jacob has sent me to you. This is my name forever. And this is Mama Morial to all generations. Could it be that God chose these new names for these people. As a way to let them know that they were destined to a new mission in their life anew no new name was a way to let them in on a divine plan that he had for their lives. And it would be fulfilled through them. God desires. A newness for us. First Timothy Chapter two verses one through four reveals God’s desire for all men. It says Therefore I observe first of all that supplications prayers. Intercessions and given thanks be made for all men for kings and all who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life and all godliness and reverence for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour who desires. All men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. He wants to give you a new identity. He wants to give us all a new identity. God wants. He who might have been George the thief. Tom the loving caring father who takes care of his children. I don’t need to go one. He wants to give you a new identity. He wants those that were on right just to the right says. He has a new identity for us. When someone mentions your name to someone else what will that person think with all that’s a good Godly man. One who walks in the ways of the Lord. Or the think ballboy he’s a swindler or sees a liar. What were they think. When someone mentions your name. God wants to give you a new name. He wants you to be identified with him. Most importantly revelations to seventeen. He says he who has a near that in the here with the Spirit says to the churches. To Him Whoever comes. I will give some of the hitman A to eat. And I will give him a white stone. And on the stone a new name written. Which no one knows except him who receives it. Most important he wants your name to be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. That’s the most important place that your name. Can ever be written in if you repent of your sins. And believe the Lord Jesus Christ. Guess what your names written in that Lamb’s Book of Life.
