Psalm 37:1-18
Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12 The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth. 13 The Lord laughs at him, For He sees that his day is coming. 14 The wicked have drawn the sword And have bent their bow, To cast down the poor and needy, To slay those who are of upright conduct. 15 Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken. 16 A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked. 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the LORD upholds the righteous. 18 The LORD knows the days of the upright, And their inheritance shall be forever.
Prov 16:32
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
Colossians 3:8-11
But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.
John 15:4
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Matt 10:22
And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

It’s MORNING a title my message worth the wait the lives that we live for Him or faithfulness will be worth the wait in the end my message is more in comes from songs Chapter thirty seven versus one through eighteen hear the word of the Lord do not fret because of evil doers nor be envious of the workers of iniquity for they shall soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb trust in the Lord and do good to well in the land and feed on his faithfulness the light yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart commit your way to the Lord trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as a light as the light and your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him do not fret because of him who prospers in his way because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass sees from anger and for sake wrath first sake wrath. Now think of the word for sake. I think it Jesus on the crawl saying father. Why have offer saken me he turned his back on him when he took the sins of the world upon him. So we are to turn our back on the wrath we are to for sake rat put away from us do not fret it only causes harm for evil doers shall be cut off but those who wait on the Lord they shall inherit the earth for yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more Indeed you will look carefully for his place but it shall be no more but the meek shall inherit the earth actual They light themselves in the abundance of peace. The wicked plots against the just and NASA NASA had him with his tea the Lord laughs at him for he sees that his day is coming the wicked have. Have drawn the sword and have bent their bow to cast down the poor and needy to slay those who are of upright conduct their sword so enter their own heart and their abode shall be broken and a little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked for the arms of the wicked shall be broken but the Lord upholds the righteous the Lord knows the day of the upright and their own heritage shall be for ever amen May God at his lessons of the here and in the reading of His Holy Word. Let us pray Heavenly Father we thank you for your word we thank you for the promises that we find in your word but we thank you that you are faithful to us you are faithful and just we thank you for your your righteousness father by that we know that it is by your righteousness by which we are saved not our room father we just pray that your spirit would be here this morning that you would speak to us a Jew would guide and direct us Father help us to grow closer to you help us to glorify and honor in praise you always father and we just ask us in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen. My first point this morning comes from the first verse it said to us do not fret do not fret because of evil doers nor be envious of the workers of iniquity the Hebrew meaning of the word frett means to blaze up in anger to get heated up over an evil to get jealous to wax hot to be wroth with anger not you know all of us could probably if we take a moment and pause and think you might be able to think of someone you know that is quick tempered have that short fuse about that long. You know it doesn’t take much to get them ignited and get them to wax. Hodder to be wroth with anger to get I’m really mad. I hope you’re not one of them. The say this morning. I hope that you’re not one of those that are short tempered and quick to get fired up and and heat up about heated up about things I’m going to be honest the and I have to admit that there are times when is hard not to blaze up with anger. Whenever we see or hear about an evil done to an innocent person. It’s hard not to get angry. Now we were speaking his saddest about children and you know when things are done to children sometimes is hard especially if it’s an evil done to a child not to get angry but that’s a righteous anger. I’m talking about that anger that cause you to fire you up and cause you to her outburst at somebody or to go and do an evil to someone because of an evil they’ve done to you you know as I was pondering this message all week and I happened to just be thinking about. I wonder how many men or and or women are sitting in prison that because of their quick temper or short fuse they’ve landed in selves in prison because of that outburst of Wrath. They’ve went and grabbed the weapon of some Connor went and beat somebody where they would have just taken time to step back count to ten or count to a thousand if necessary take time to cool down if they would’ve found themselves wound up in prison because of that hot temper of the Erse David wisely says don’t get heated up don’t get angry do not fret because of that evil Abraham Lincoln gave this wise advice. To his secretary Edwin Stanton Edward was angry at an Army officer accused him of favoritism. Stan complained to Lincoln who suggested that Stan write the officer a sharp letter. Stan did so and he showed the strongly worded missive to the president. They said What are you going to do with it. Surprise surprise that he asked that stands said I’m going to send it. Lincoln shook his head he said you don’t want to send that letter he said put it in the stove. That’s what I do when I’ve written a letter while I am angry. It’s a good letter and you had a good time writing it and you feel better now burn it and write another letter. Good advice. It sounds to me like Abraham Lincoln must have read Psalms thirty seven a time or two I think he understood. I think he understood David’s argument here in the song saying keep your cool because the wicked are temporary The wicked are temporary verse two said that they sell shall soon be cut down like the grass and with degree nervous. Now the House of the grass is a little high and if I cut the grass by the Tom I get the rotten part done and I do the weed whacker in and do the push Mon the trim and that grass that I’ve cut down that is going to now need rake guess what it’s already dropped up in just a very short time. That’s a good illustration to show how quickly they will be cut down and withered up the evil will fall they will be cut down like the grass. John Clackamas says that there is no greater obstacle to the presence of the Holy Spirit in us than anger. It is a roadblock for the Holy Spirit. Your lives we need to rid ourselves of anger and wrath. We do not need to allow anger to rule over us. God wants to set us free from anger envy and bitterness of all kind he will set you free if you don’t have that roadblock in there. Proverbs sixteen thirty two says he who is slow to anger is better than the mighty and He who rules his spear than he who takes the city. Don’t don’t allow anger to rule you. Colossians three eight through eleven says but now you yourselves are to put off all these anger wrath malice blasphemy filthy language out of your mouth do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with his deeds and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. I think it just a few weeks ago I was talking about righteousness and we have to put these things on but when it comes to wrath the mouse and anger put them all put them off don’t let it be part of who you are now my second point comes from verse four. I’m going to use this the last part of verse four first the last part of that verse said and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Wow Isn’t that awesome God going to give us these are the desires of our heart. Wow how to wow May God desire that new car that new wardrobe that new house. You’re with Gary shaking his head no no no no no that’s not what that verse means does it but you know there are people will take just a part of that Burson use it will twist it around. We’ve got to look at the whole thing don’t we I mean there’s many prosperity preachers. Out there they take that half of that verse said God wanted you to have that new car. God wants what is best for you yes God does what what it does want what is best for us but I doesn’t mean that the desires of our heart. If it’s the fleshly things we can’t look at just the last part we have to examine the whole verse the verse says from the beginning delight yourself off so when the Lord. The light yourself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart when you did light in him he will give that to you the word light comes from a root that means to be brought up in luxury to be pampered it speaks of the abundance of the blessings we have in the Lord himself not in that which he gives us. But in the Lord Himself. That’s what it speaks of if we truly did light in the Lord. Then the chief desire of our heart will be to know him better to have a more intimate closer relationship with Him If we truly want more of the Lord if our desire to understand him more to draw closer to the him to trust him more if we get to the place we say I just can’t get enough of the Lord. Guess what he’ll give you more it says he will give you the desires of your heart that’s when your desire is for him he will give it to you he will just keep giving and giving and giving if you keep seeking is seeking it seeking God’s never going to say. No you’ve got enough. He’s never going to tell you that. Now you’ve got enough of me you don’t get any more you’ll never hear those words from God If you desire him more he will give you the desires of your heart. My third point this morning is it’ll be worth the wait. It will be worth the wait if we are faithful to Him If we remain in him. John fifteen four says abide in May and die in you as a branch cannot bear fruit of itself and thus it abides in the vine neither can you and thus you abide in me abide mange to remain in to remain in Him daily for lot for life till death do us part then we get to be with him for eternity when he returns to remain Matthew ten twenty two and you will be hated by all for my namesake. But he who endures to the end will be say is not going to be easy. But he who endures to the end will be saved. Now going to try to bring all get all this together and bring it in for a landing the Salma said Do not be envious of the workers of iniquity for they shall soon be cut down like the grass. You know at times it might appear if we as we look at society around us that those that are selfish those that are run right on righteous it seems like they prosper it seems like they possessed the earth. Why I’m here to tell you it might appear like they possess the earth but they shall never inherit it. Because David says that the meek shall inherit the earth and I think a lot of us have a wrong understanding of what Meek is because Psalm when you say what is meek Well they say that the that it is those that are weak Meek is not weak Meek is not those that get beat up. Meek is not those who get trampled upon or taken advantage of some think the meek are losers. While I’m here to tell you that they are not the Reverend David H. C. tells us that he was speaking at a Scott H. Scott H. Church want the Scottish Church can say those two words together Scottish Church one day and someone came up to inform him that there was a young man there that had decided that he was going to be a pastor and this informant said I am so happy that this man is going to be a pastor because it will it suits him very well because he sets a nice harmless boy. Yeah he sets a nice harmless boy’s What was he say and he sets away clean I’m so glad he’s going to be a pastor. Yeah he was confused about what make this means when the Greek word prayers was first translated into English the word meek had a different meaning than it does today. Once upon a time the word meek characterize a person who was free of self. Will someone who wasn’t interested in getting his or her own way but was interested in the good of other people. The Greek word which is translated as Meek was used to describe a horse that was bridled ready to run a race the meek are those who are dismiss this a planned and controlled by God to run God’s race when I was young I had a horse and my cousin had a horse. So I mean we had a love of forces we love the rod or worse isn’t his horse was a mare that he had bred and they had a it had a little fold or call. And so this. Thinking about this whole thing with be unbridled you know he whatever you have a cold or a fold. It’s not natural it’s not the natural thing for them to have a bridle put in their mouth a saddle put on them to be able to ride this. It’s not natural. You take a young colt you have to put a blanket on it for SED and lead it around and you get used to that blanket you put a halter on it at first not a bridle. So then you have to lead around you get only used to the blanket you walk and you get used to being lead then you’ll put the saddle want to you’ll get used to that saddle being tightened up around its girth. And you walk it around you don’t get on it yet. You don’t get on it and then eventually you’ll put the bridle in its mouth and it might flow its head around and not want that broad winner because I’m telling you it’s not the natural thing for a horse to do the natural thing for a horse or do is get out there and run in that pasture with other horses with its nose so the when it’s tail back you’re going to just run and having fun. That’s the natural thing for that powerful strong beast to do not to be bridled in LED around. If you take one of them wild stuff. Bring it in you want to put a saddle want to get on it you better be prepared for a ride because you’re going to give you a ride ride of a lifetime so horse has to be broken before you can get a saddle want to put a bridle want to smile and get on a horse and ride it has to be broken. Do you see the similarities here we have to be broken for God before God can put the broader When are miles in lead us. But when we are broken and we allow God to put the broader When our mouth. In lead us where He wants us to go not where we want to go then we are meek. That’s what meekness is making this is allowing God to lead you where he wants to take you and not go where you want to go and to be honest God just gave me that the small. I said thank you Jesus are we me. Are we meek or do we still want our way are we willing to be brought to the maker content to walk in the shadow were God keeps watch over them but there is a promise for the meek that they will receive the great reward. I give David a list of verses and hope we can put them all up at once and they’re all from Psalms thirty seven verse nine verse of Levin did you get those they’re all there. Listen to what the meek will receive first nine said for evildoers shall be cut off but those who wait on the Lord they shall inherit the earth verse eleven said but the meek shall inherit the earth until they light themselves in the abundance of peace Glory hallelujah. We could use an abundance of peace today couldn’t wait. What a grand place that will be when we’ll have that abundance of peace. We won’t turn the news on and see where some young man has been shot or police officers have been shot or some terrorist attacked some club because there will be an abundance of peace wickedness will be destroyed. Birth’s eighteen said the Lord knows the days of the upright and their inheritance shall be for ever how late William for ever. It’s not brief it is for eternity first twenty two said which I had and didn’t go that far in the beginning for those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth but those cursed by him shall be cut off so Friends us while we do not fret about the evil doers we don’t fret and be envious about those that have been there unfaithful. Don’t fret about it they’ll be cut off just worry about what God has in store for us. Verse twenty nine said the righteous shall inherit the land and well in it for ever verse thirty four says wait on the Lord and keep his ways and he shall exalt you to inherit the land when the wicked are caught off you shall see it. Do you see why it’s worth the wait. It’s worth the wait to wait on the Lord Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. It’s not ours let’s wait on him and let’s be meek on to the Lord allow Him to guide us because the make shall inherit the law or the inherit the earth. It is worth the wait. It is worth the in dorms to be faithful to him to be true to him and a man.
